Will this phone destroy verizon?

Q: Verizon charges large amounts for using landline and cellphones. My question here is will this phone : http://www.amazon.com/Philips-VOIP841-PC-Free-Wireless-Phone/dp/B000ND75FW/ref=pd_sim_dbs_e_4 this phone will make it more viable to use vonage correct? My next question would be what is the radius of this phone? can it be used like a cell phone? (thus using a landline and cell at same time being a hybrid?) Overall question since this phone is considered a landline can it be used with vonage? I hear you pay 24.99 with vonage but with verizon it also has a low cost 49.99 yet some one I know still ranks high bills. For average vonage users - how would you rank your phone bill against verizon is it less than 100 bucks a month (ALL TOGETHER)? THANKS!!!! No sorry sir I am not insane for asking a question now do I repeat? WHAT IS THE RADIUS OF THIS PHONE ? can it be used like a cellphone - thanks!

A: Don't do it. Go with T-Mobile's @Home service. $9.99 a month for unlimited VoIP calling nationwide. Same as Vonage, but tons less. The radius for any of the VoIP is determined by the router's signal output, so it doesn't really work as a cell unless you go to your neighbor's, then it might work. But if you want a home phone and cell phone in one, T-Mobile's talk forever mobile may be the way to go. Just choose any of their cell plans $39.99 a month or higher and add $9.99 a month for unlimited calling when you make phone calls over wi-fi with a compatible phone. Same as VoIP, but truly a cell phone.
